The campaign had a table at the Shively Festival over the weekend, where we got a great response. We passed out a lot of literature and stickers, and hundreds signed our petition for lower gas prices.

I agree 100% with opening up more areas for drilling. If it is true that big oil companies have millions of acres of leases they are not drilling in the government should take them back and give them to someone that will drill. Surely there are drilling companies that would love to have them. The head of Exxon said in BusinessWeek in May that Exxon will not build a new refinery in the US because he is happy with the price of oil and gas. They are not using their record profits to increase drilling or investing in new technology they are using them to buy back stock thus increasing earnings per share and other indicators that earn the CEOs hugh bonuses. The average person doesn’t know these thing so plese keep telling them.
